Screen printing custom t-shirts for purposes such as commercial advertising and event sponsorship involves more than just slapping a company logo on the front of t-shirts. To make an effective branding attempt by using t-shirt design to screen print logo t-shirts takes having the knowledge of the message you want to send and the appropriate way to use commercial printing to express it. By learning from this presentation of t-shirt screen printing methods and techniques, you can we advised of the extra details that can be implemented to your custom t-shirts.

Colors, Half-Tones, and Gradients

Like all of these screen printing elements, a number of colors that you infuse into your t-shirt design will increase the price of the process. If you want to add some excitement and sizzle to your t-shirt concepts, you can use gradients – which are variations of colors. Half-tones, on the other hand, simulate continuous color tone imagery by using of dots.

High-Density Inks

When you request high-density ink for screen printing, you will be able to give your t-shirt design a dimensional texture and appearance. This ink style offers a look that is similar to stitching.

Flock

Screen printing that uses the flock technique gives the design elements a soft feel and a look that resembles felt.

Foil

When it is time to add some shine, you can implement foil to provide your custom t-shirt design a metallic look. Foils work really well when the objective is to liven up the highlights of text or graphic portions of a design.

Suede

Suede does exactly what it sounds like for screen printing – it gives the look and feel of suede. When this type of ink is applied to a t-shirt, it adds dimension and texture to make your t-shirt designs stand out.

Metallic Inks

For a shimmer that isn’t as boldly shiny as foil, metallic inks are the ideal choice to add a more subtle effect to your t-shirt screen printing.

Gel

To have your design look somewhat like glass; clear gel can be applied over your screen print to give it a glass-like look. For a rubbery and thicker appearance, use a high-density gel.

Water-Based Inks

The benefit of water-based inks in screen printing is that they offer your t-shirt designs a look and feel that appears to be almost a part of the fibers of the shirt itself. This is a big difference from the less expensive, but lower quality plastisol print that merely sits on the surface of the fabric. Water-based inks are also helpful when trying to achieve a vintage style.

Discharge

Discharge works sort of like bleach; in that, it takes color out of a t-shirt. Raw discharge brings a bleached look to a dark-colored shirt, while tinted discharge gives a muted tone of the ink color that is utilized.
